Search Bible Classes

The search function searches Bible class descriptions and transcripts. When the search function finds the search word or phrase, you will be presented with links to the classes that contain those words. The link will take you to the class audio page. If you want to find where the search phase is located in the Bible class transcript, click on the Transcript:read link to view the transcript. Once in the transcript window, type Ctrl-F (PC) or Cmd-F (Mac) to enter the word or phrase in the browser search box, and it will show you all occurrences of your search word(s).

Search Tips

  • Entering a search string with no other criteria (such as AND, NOT, or quote marks) will return some of the context around the words you entered (which are highlighted) as well as a link to the audio player for the class.
That page will also have links to the video, transcript, and slides for that class.

  • Entering two search terms separated by the word AND will return links to all items which contain both of those terms as well as part of the description of each class.

  • Entering two terms separated by the word NOT will return links to all items which contain the first term but not the second term as well as part of the description of each class.

  • Entering a search string in quotes will return links to items that contain the exact phrase as well as part of the description of each class.

Did you ever have someone close to you turn against you? Listen to this lesson to hear how not only David’s son, but also his trusted advisor overthrew him and sent him fleeing from Jerusalem. In this chaotic atmosphere David had to decide whether to give in to fear and despair or to believe God’s promises. Today we face tremendous upheaval and we, too, need to remember that God is sovereign and His plan is being fulfilled in the world.

When all around you is uncertain, where should you turn for help? Listen to this lesson to hear about a time when David appeared to be in a hopeless situation. Find out how God worked behind the scenes for him as his former counselor, Ahithophel, gave Absalom excellent advice which should have been followed. When we face a crisis, we need to accept that God is sovereign and we can trust Him to provide the help we need.

Passage: 2 Samuel 17:5-29
Series: 1st and 2nd Samuel (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 1 mins 50 secs
Is there a pattern between David’s flight from Absalom that parallels Christ’s journey on His last night before the Crucifixion? Find out eight points that show the similarities. See how Hushai cleverly counters Ahithophel’s advice to kill David and what he urges David to do. See Ahithophel’s tragic end when he realizes what has happened. Today, we need to realize that we are being provided for by God just as David and his followers were cared for during this difficult time.
