Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.

Passage: 2 Peter 2:6-11
Series: 2 Peter (2019)
Duration: 1 hr 0 mins 7 secs
How can we resist being influenced and seduced by the evil going on around us? Listen to this message to learn that Peter addressed this in his second epistle and assures us that we can depend on God to deliver those who have trusted in Him. Hear three illustrations, including the punishment and destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the role angels played in two of them. Recognize that whatever happens to test us, God has given us the tools we need to endure.

The book about Martin Luther that Dr. Dean referenced during this lesson is available here.

Passage: 2 Peter 2-3
Series: 2 Peter (2019)
Duration: 1 hr 5 mins 10 secs
Are you ready to take a quick trip through the remainder of 2 Peter to hear what is as relevant to us today as it was when it was written nearly 2,000 years ago? Find out the emphasis is on false teachers with a number of examples from the past that show God’s judgment. See the motivation of these teachers and the destructiveness of what they said to people’s spiritual life. Examine how this parallels Jude’s warnings and the role of the angelic conflict in all of it.
