What is a Mini-Series?
A Mini-Series is a small subset of lessons from a major series which covers a particular subject or book. The class numbers will be in reference to the major series rather than the mini-series.

Tag Index

Each Bible class is assigned a few keywords or phrases called tags. This is simply an index or listing of all those tags. It is not an exhaustive index built from all the words in the titles, descriptions and transcripts. For that, you need to use the search function on the main menu.

Series: How Should We Then Vote? (2020)
Duration: 1 hr 15 mins 5 secs

Why is life so hard and such a struggle? Listen to this lesson to learn that these problems are a result of the Fall. See a list of the consequences of sin and how the first Divine Institution of Personal Responsibility requires hard work even in the face of discomfort, disappointment, and disillusionment. Understand that no matter what we are going through, we are to understand that God is in control and He gives us the resources to handle whatever comes our way.

During this lesson Dr. Dean mentioned an article by Victor Davis Hanson regarding antifa.

He also commented on a book by Elisabeth Elliot entitled Through Gates of Splendor.

Passage: Matthew 9:1-8
Series: Matthew (2013)
Duration: 58 mins 7 secs
What if someone could read your thoughts? Even when you're thinking something bad about them? This is what happened to the scribes when Jesus told a paralytic man that his sins were forgiven. Listen to this lesson to see that the scribes were shocked and were mentally accusing Jesus of blaspheming. See how Jesus showed them that He had the power to forgive sins and also to heal, revealing that He was God. See the significance of the title, Son of Man. Learn about four types of forgiveness and that all sin is basically against God. Decide to forgive others who have wronged you just as God graciously forgives your sins.

Passage: Matthew 5:7
Series: Matthew (2013)
Duration: 40 mins 54 secs
Me? Be kind, merciful, and forgiving even to hateful, mean-spirited people? That's not possible. Listen to this lesson to learn that the standards of righteousness Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount are impossible under our own efforts but are applicable to everyone who would be a committed believer depending on God's power. See how Jesus displayed mercy when He was on earth in a culture that was cruel and unforgiving. Note the distinctions between grace and mercy and how they relate to God's amazing attributes.
