Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.

Did you ever hear someone say, “The Devil made me do that”? Listen to this lesson to learn that the Devil has many names and titles in the Bible. Find out what these titles tell us about him and how he relates to the human race. See that his title “the father of lies” reveals his deceptive nature and how he never tells the truth. See that when he is called “the accuser of the brethren”, it is referring to the constant accusations he makes against us and that his title of “God of the Ages and Ruler of the World” describes the scope of his power to influence and cause chaos. Learn what we can and cannot do to prevent us from succumbing to his schemes. Understand the importance of learning the truth in the Word of God and encourage others who are being attacked by him.

Passage: Judges 6 & Psalm 83
Duration: 1 hr 4 mins 36 secs

What causes people and nations to try to destroy the nation of Israel throughout history? Listen to this lesson to continue to study the background for the days when Gideon became a judge. See the prayer in Psalm 83 where ill will is wished on those who hate God and His chosen people. Hear a discussion of Thomas Sowell and his two opposing worldviews, one of which believes that man is capable of becoming free of evil through circumstances and education and the other which is biblically based.

During this message Dr. Dean discusses concepts from Dr. Thomas Sowell's Conflict of Visions book.

He also mentioned an article published In Imprimus from Hillsdale College regarding Dr. Sowell.
