Fundamental Truths
Before embarking on a study of the Bible, Dean Bible Ministries would like to invite you to consider the following fundamental truths about the most important decision you will ever make.
The most important decision has nothing to do with your marital status, children, finances, education, or career. Important as these might be, they affect only your destiny on earth. The most important decision in your life determines your eternal destiny. Will it be in Heaven or the Lake of Fire?
Just as your life is the result of the decisions you make, your future is determined by your answer to one important question: What do you think about Jesus Christ?
The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who died on the Cross as a substitute for our sins (Romans 5:8). God's provision of salvation is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8, 9). You do not have to do anything. God, through Jesus Christ, did everything. Anything you do destroys the gift. All you do is accept that free gift. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).
Once you believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become a child of God and a member of His royal family – yes, you – royalty!
As a member of His royal family, He has a purpose and special plan for your life on earth. Do you know what that is? Do you understand how to implement this plan?
The only way to acquire this knowledge is to consistently study the Word of God (the Bible). Only then can you learn of the vast array of spiritual assets God has provided for you as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and discover how to advance from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity.
The materials we offer at Dean Bible Ministries are designed to enable you to learn the entire scope of Bible doctrine revealed in the Scriptures that you may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).
Preparation for Studying God’s Word
Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.
